On our way to Roma we stopped at another set of necropoli. These were mostly above ground mounds that were carved from solid bedrock. They all originally had frescoes but for the most part they all deteriorated from excavation. They all resembled the houses they etruscans lived in. It was a fun place because you could explore anywhere you wanted and it made me feel a bit like Idiana Jones. We ran around like kids.And of courese it was nice to be out in an open space with nature- Florence doesn't have much.
