The next morning we got up really early and went swimming in thr Mediteranean. it was amazing (it was really salty and kinda cold). We left Riomaggiore and walked the famous lovers path to the next village of Manarola. It again was a beautiful walk- with rhe blue sky and the turquise water.
From Manarola we hiked a longer distance to Corniglia, the girls stopped along the way to have another dip into the sea. To get to the village of Corniglia you have to go up 385 steps (if you try it be ready for tough accent). We had lunch here and explred a small chapel- it being the village highest up- there were some nice panoramas. We weren't going to walk to the next town because it was farther a way so we had to hike back down the 385 steps to the train station and rode the train to Vernazza.
This village had a larger coat harbor and a small sand beach where i found lots of beach glass. We only spent about an hour here but I would like to spend more tome here someday. Again we took a train to the fifth city in Cingue Terre - Monterosso al Mare. This has the largest beach but it was gravel instead of sand- so I didn't walk around much. But the water was lovely and ice blue. Steph and Chels went swimming again here and we all stayed on the beach. Each town was charimg and beautiful and I think all of you should visit here some day.
