Today in my drawing class my professor (who I love) looked at my drawing and said "well isn't that ugly". She wasn't trying to hurt my feelings, it was that she could see my frustrations with the piece. And really I was: the colour was all wrong, the texture wasn't working for me, the composition was bad. I am worried that I suck and that this frustration will leak over to the painting I am starting for tomorrow. I so badly want to be confident with my work as well as having others take me seriously.
